CHAPTER 13

(Joe slowly walked up the stairs to Kerry’s room. He heard her blasting the Sara Evans CD and singing “As If” [A.N She decided to listen to it after she saw Joe]. He smiled hearing her sweet voice singing along to the song. He cautiously knocked on the door and waited for her to open it. She walked over and opened the door but when she saw Joe her face dropped.)

Kerry: Can I help you?
Joe: Kerry… I need to talk to you…
Kerry: Why?
Joe: Because I messed up…
Kerry: Oh, really? Ya think?
Joe: I shouldn’t have yelled at you earlier, I should have believed you. Because it’s true… I saw her and Eli together…
Kerry: So you had to find out for yourself before you believed me?
Joe: Well… I guess… but I should have believed you! And I never should have yelled at you, ever. I deserved everything you told me, everything. I shouldn’t have broken up with you, and just expected everything to be better. I shouldn’t have started dating Erin, and I shouldn’t have ripped this… (he pulls the picture out). All I did was… lose the best thing in my life Kerry… and I’m sorry…
Kerry: Well, I accept your apology… but Joe, how can I ever forgive you!
Joe: I don’t know, and I know I messed up. I just wish everything was back the way it was before. I miss you Kerry…
Kerry: (she looks up at him but she’s still hurt inside) I’m sorry Joe… I can’t forgive you… not yet… you hurt me way too much too just expect me to forgive you.
Joe: I know… I just-
Kerry: Joe, I have to think about this… it’s gonna take a lot for me to forgive you…
Joe: (looks down) I understand… well I better head home… (he leaves)

(Kerry just stands there for a second… was she sure she didn’t want him back? Her head started spinning, telling her 2 different things… yes, no, yes, no, take him back, no leave him, everything. She sat down on her bed and looked at her song book… she opened it and looked at all the songs she wrote about Joe… including ones when they were dating. She smiled remembering all the good times. But got sad remembering all the bad ones… she couldn’t make up her mind about Joe…)

*With Kevin, Nick, Briana, and Lana (mini recap)*

(They walked into the house and saw Joe sitting on the couch watching T.V.)

Kevin: Hey man, how was Erin’s?
Lana: Erin’s? He was at our house…
Nick: No, he went to Erin’s…
Briana: He was just getting to ours when we left here…
Joe: Guys?
Kevin: Sorry… go ahead.
Joe: Well… when I went to Erin’s… I saw her with Eli…
Lana: WHAT?!
Joe: Yeah… and everything Kerry had told me was the truth.
Briana: Wait, what? Told you what?
Joe: She didn’t tell you?
Lana: No… she stays in her room most of the time… that’s why we were surprised she went for a walk today.
Joe: Well… when she went on her walk she went to the park… and I guess Erin was there and she had been working for AJ all a long and is really dating this guy named Eli…
Kevin: I knew she was no good… WE TOLD YOU!
Joe: I know… well Kerry came and told me everything… but I didn’t believe her…
Nick: Why?
Joe: Because… I never thought Erin would do that…
Kevin: (under his breath) We did…
Joe: (glares at him) ANYWAYS, when I went to her house, I saw them… and broke up with her.
Nick: The smartest thing you’ve ever done.
Joe: OK I GET IT! Well… I went back to the girl’s house and told Kerry I believed her but she said she had to think about forgiving me… which I understand…
Briana: So… what are you gonna do?
Joe: I don’t know… something to get her back…
Lana: You know who’s really good at getting people back together?
Briana: Who?
Lana: Caroline.
Joe: (eyes widen) Um, I think we have other ways then the girl that will want to murder me in my sleep.
Kevin: Well, if you hadn’t broken up with Kerry, we wouldn’t have this problem.
Joe: Kevin, I’m gonna kill you-
Lana: GUYS!
Kevin and Joe: Sorry…
Lana: I’ll explain to her. And she won’t want to kill you… just… maybe hurt you…
Joe: (sarcastic) Well that’s fine. NOT.
Lana: Listen, she’ll be so happy that you want to get back with Kerry, it won’t matter.
Joe: If you say so…
Lana: It’s late… me and Bri should be heading home. I’ll call her tomorrow… see ya guys.
Nick: Bye. (he kisses Lana)
Kevin: See ya. (he kisses Bri and the girls leave)
Joe: Well… I’m going to bed. Night…

(He walks upstairs to his room and lays down in his bed… he starts to think about how he was going to get Kerry back… “How am I gonna fix this mess…” he thought to himself as he fell asleep.)
